From the day a site is cleared to the day a family walks through the front door, a new home takes a year of our daily attention. We do not take on more of these projects than we can personally lead — and the result is a portfolio of homes that we still visit, and still love, decades after the keys were handed over.
We work in close collaboration with Maui's most respected architects and designers, and we are equally comfortable assembling that team for clients who are starting from a blank page.

For a family relocating from the mainland, we built a four-thousand-square-foot custom home into a steep upcountry parcel — pole-and-beam construction, deep overhangs for the trade winds, and a continuous lanai that pulls the living spaces out to the view. From foundation pour to keys took fourteen months.

Most of our custom-home clients arrive with an architect already chosen, and we slip into that team with the relationships and shared standards built up over twenty years on the island. We respect the design intent, push back early when something will not build well, and keep the project moving forward.

Steep slopes, lava rock, and the realities of Maui parcels.
Maui sites are rarely flat and never simple. Lava substrate, septic constraints, water-meter limitations, drainage, and slope all shape what is buildable and how. We engage civil engineering, geotechnical, and surveying partners early so that the site work is understood before the architecture is committed to.
The result is a foundation strategy, drainage plan, and site logistics framework that protects the budget and the schedule from the surprises that derail less prepared builds.

We design assemblies, choose materials, and detail penetrations with the assumption that the home will be standing in seventy-five years. Roof systems specified for trade-wind uplift. Cladding and trim chosen to age into a patina rather than fail. Mechanical systems sized so they are not running at peak load. Electrical capacity prepared for the way the next thirty years will use power. The decisions are quiet, but they are the difference between a home that lasts and a home that needs renovating in fifteen years.

We walk the site with you, understand the family the home is for, and assemble (or join) the architectural team that will draw it.

Daily superintendent, weekly client photo updates, monthly billing transparency, and a fixed schedule that we hold ourselves to.

Punch-walk by room, full warranty package, eleven-month follow-up walkthrough — and a relationship that often lasts the life of the home.

Roughly half of our work in any given year comes from past clients and the people they refer to us. That ratio is not an accident — it is the result of a posture that treats handoff as the beginning of a relationship, not the end of a transaction.
We do an eleven-month walkthrough, we respond to questions in year five and year ten, and we are still on a first-name basis with families whose homes we built fifteen years ago.
